    • Discussion led by Miranda Miller-Klugesherz, Director, Kansas Food Action Network
      1. Review Douglas County Food Policy Council Self-Assessment
      2. Review State-Wide Results
  4. State-Wide Food System Priorities
    • Consider approval for leadership to submit written support – throughout the 2022 legislative session – for legislative actions that progress the state-wide food system priorities adopted by the FPC on 11.15.21.
  5. EPA Food Waste Research Grant Opportunity
    • Consider approval to submit a Letter of Intent to support KU’s Department of Economics grant application
  6. Budget Request:
    • Consider approving $1,717.00 to send two members of the FoRWaRD (Food Recovery, Waste Reduction, and Diversion) working group to the Food Waste Solutions Summit – May 10-12 in Minneapolis, MN. Balance after requested: $5,083.00.
  7. Update on Utility-Scale Solar Regulations
    • Formal comment submitted by FPC committee on near-final draft regulations, as approved by FPC on 10.18.21
  8. Retreat Preview: Review of Council Purpose, Goals, and Duties
    • Discussion and exercise with Jill Jolicoeur, Assistant to County Administrator

  4. State-Wide Food System Priorities
    • Consider approval for leadership to submit written support – throughout the 2022 legislative session – for legislative actions that progress the state-wide food system priorities adopted by the FPC on 11.15.21.
      1. Motion to approve written support by leadership of any legislative actions that progress the Council’s 6 state-wide food policy priorities by Elizabeth, second by Cody. Motion passes.

    • Consider approval to submit a Letter of Intent to support KU’s Department of Economics grant application
      1. Motion to approve submission of Letter of Intent by Elizabeth, second by Tamara. Motion passes.
  6. Budget Request

      1. Motion to approve budget for attendance and travel to the Food Waste Solutions Summit by Elizabeth, second by Ashley. Motion passes. 
  7. Update on Utility-Scale Solar Regulations
    • Formal comment submitted by FPC committee on near-final draft regulations, as approved by FPC on 10.18.21.
  8. POSTPONED: Retreat Preview: Review of Council Purpose, Goals, and Duties:
    • Discussion and exercise with Jill Jolicoeur, Assistant to County Administrator
  9. Member Updates
    • Ashley – 5 person Commission. Commission working on language for ballot, before the vote on it.
  10. Adjourn
    • Motion to adjourn by Dietrich, second by Ashley.
