I. Action Item: Administrative Items

A. Determine quorum of members, agenda approval

B. Approval of November meeting minutes

C. Reschedule January meeting to non-holiday

D. Vote on nominees for 2020 officers

III. Guest: Miranda Klugesherz, Director Kansas Alliance for Wellness

IV. Budget Items ($1964.47 remaining in 2019 budget; $1714.35 remaining in KAW capacity building grant):

A. Request: $5.87 from FPC budget for balance on Food System Plan Quick Guides.

B. Request: Collective FPC member request for approximately $2,299.00 for 2020 conference registration and pre-purchase travel

C. Request: Staff requests use of approximately $1342.50 of remaining capacity building grant funds for food policy professional development. Sustainability budget will reimburse a portion of this by covering outlined Council Member travel expenses that carry into 2020.

A. Food Waste Toolkit and Ethnic Food Retailer Video progress

B. KAW Implementation mini grant allocations

  1. Action Item: Administrative Items
    1. Determine quorum of members, agenda approval
      • Motion to approve by Marlin, second by Sarah. Motion passes.
    2. Approval of November meeting minutes
      • Motion to approve by Elizabeth, second by Marlin. Motion passes.
    3. Reschedule January meeting to non-holiday
      • Motion to move the January and February meetings to Monday, January 27 and Monday, February 24 by Tyler, second by Sarah. Motion passes.
    4. Vote on nominees for 2020 officers
      • Motion to approve Sarah Hartsig as Chair and Tyler Lindquist as Vice Chair for 2020 by Marlin, second by William. Motion passes.

      • Motion to approve collective budget requests as outlined above by Marlin, second by Elizabeth. Motion passes.
  5. Updates:
    1. Food Waste Toolkit and Ethnic Food Retailer Video progress
      • Piper Holt has been hired to design the toolkit. KU graduate students are helping with content research. There will be three focus areas of communication: food donations, consumer behavior, and composting.
    2. KAW Implementation mini grant allocations
      • An extension has been requested for the mini grant portion of the Implementation Grant.
