9:00 a.m. General Election Canvass
November 17, 2016
Flory called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2016 with all two Commissioners present, Flory and Gaughan. The purpose of the Special Meeting was to canvass the results of the General Election held on November 8, 2016. Flory moved to appoint Paula Gilchrist, Douglas County Treasurer, to fill the canvass position of Commissioner Nancy Thellman. Motion was seconded by Gaughan and carried 2-0.
Gaughan moved to accept One Thousand Two Hundred Ninety-Six (1296) provisional ballots as recommended by the County Clerk; to not count Seven Hundred Nine (709) ballots as recommended by the County Clerk; and to not count the one (1) ballot regarding time with no recommendation by the County Clerk. Motion was seconded by Flory and carried 3-0.

Gaughan moved to accept the write-in ballots as recommended by the County Clerk. Motion was seconded by Paula Gilchrist and carried 3-0.
Gaughan moved to accept the report of the votes by precinct, advance vote and mail in ballots; and to adjourn the meeting unless contacted by the County Clerk to reconvene for the prospect of provisional ballots affecting the outcome of any race. Motion was seconded by Flory and carried 3-0
